Beneath the Canopy

“I suppose it is submerged realities that give to dreams their curios air of hyper-reality” - W.G Sebald, The Rings of Saturn

For this exhibition Amanda Houchen considers the ethereal, sometimes otherworldly quality of nature and its inhabitants.Exploring the transformative power of colour and camouflage through expressive and gestural mark making, she paints creatures that appear to glow in the undergrowth.

Amanda Houchen graduated from City & Guilds School for Art with an MA in Fine Art.  For more information see www.amandahouchen.com
