ALICE-ANDREA EWING

Alice-Andrea Ewing developed a series of cast bronze mobiles responding to the landscape and atmospherics of her stay at the Lookout Tower.

Looking at the work of the 19th century local Aldeburgh artist/fisherman John Craske and with research into the navigational methods of the Marshall Islands, the first works in this series (Alde & Ore) were developed. It was this initial interest in John Craske and the context of this coastline that led her application to work at the Lookout Tower.

In this exhibition, the original mobiles and the new works derived from her Lookout Tower residency were presented alongside the working drawings made during her January stay. All works were cast by the artist at her new studio.
