Romantic Matisse

In the Arthouse this February

All Arts Club members are invited to the Valentine opening on Saturday 10th Feb 12 - 2pm, Valentine cocktails will be served.

This Valentine’s Day we celebrate 70 years since the death of Henri Matisse.

The works we present are from the series Florilege des Amours de Ronsard, the most romantic works Matisse ever made. As fresh and modern as the day he made them, they are original lithographs and each is either a very rare proof or from the edition of 320. They were inspired by the romantic poetry of the Medieval French poet Ronsard. Matisse signed the album rather than the individual unbound original lithographs within it, which makes these beautiful rare works affordably priced.
