ALDEBURGH BEACH

“I am delighted to announce the foundation of the Aldeburgh Academy, a natural addition to the long history of creative innovation here in Aldeburgh. To have

David Baldry as Director of the Art School is invaluable.

He and his team of lecturers and tutors are exceptionally well qualified to provide university standard teaching, which we can offer at a fraction of the price. Based at the Aldeburgh Beach Lookout, the courses may also take place at several inspiring locations across Aldeburgh and surrounding villages.” Caroline Wiseman, Aldeburgh Beach Lookout, founded in 2010 as a catalyst for the inspiration of artists, poets, writers and thinkers.

“We believe that small is beautiful. The Aldeburgh Academy offers the core principles and benefits of a traditional art school, but in the intimate and inspirational setting of Aldeburgh.

Small class sizes guarantee students a good level of interaction with teachers, all of whom are practising artists with a good awareness of students’ varying levels

of experience.

Students learn new skills and approaches to making art, while being encouraged to experiment and test their abilities. Through talks and discussions, they contextualise their practice and gain an insight into the work of other artists.

This serious and industrious approach with enthusiastic and lively teaching maximises learning, and offers an enjoyable and rewarding experience.”

Aldeburgh Academy presents four 3 day courses during summer 2017

£270 for each 3 day course includes a delicious lunch, wine over the 5pm group crit and materials. 10% discount for Arts Club members. 9 days of courses of  your choice adds up to the Aldeburgh Academy Summer Diploma.
